The Indies+Docs film series screens the 80-minute documentary “Tim’s Vermeer.” Tim Jenison, a Texas-based inventor, attempts to solve how 17th century Dutch master Johannes Vermeer painted photo-realistic paintings 150 years before photography was invented. Iredell County Parade

The 10th Annual Troutman Independence Celebration Parade rolls through Main Street. This year’s event pays tribute to veterans of the Afghanistan war. The event will be followed by an Independence Day Festival 5:30-9:30 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

Denver Fireworks Show
