HUNTERSVILLE – Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools appointed Charlotte Catholic High School history teacher Brendan Keane as the principal at Christ the King Catholic High School.
The school, which opened a 100-acre campus this year at N.C. 73 and Poplar Tent Road, will graduate its first senior class next year. The school begin in 2011 in Mooresville.
Keane is a graduate of the Diocese of Charlotte Catholic Schools.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Appalachian State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame.
“Mr. Keane’s personal and professional references are outstanding and attest to the fact that he is well prepared to undertake this new challenge,” said Janice Ritter, superintendent of schools. “He has taught at Charlotte Catholic High School for 10 years and East Mecklenburg High School for three years, introduced and coached a rugby program, taken on additional professional responsibilities and is ready to assume a leadership role in our schools.”
