Vali Kamali

HUNTERSVILLE – Vali Kamali, 92, died May 9, 2014, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House.

He was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Tabriz, Iran.

Kamali was a 40-year veteran of the Iranian Air Force.

Services were held May 11 at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Emmy Howell Morrison

DAVIDSON – Emmy Howell Morrison, 85, died May 7, 2014.

She was born Aug. 9, 1928, in Concord, to the late Fred Howell Sr. and Grace Blackwelder Howell.

Morrison worked as secretary for Cannon Mills in Kannapolis.

Survivors include her husband, William Morrison Sr.; sons, W. Emerson Morrison Jr. and wife, Wanda, John Howell Morrison and wife, Vivian, and Ezra Montgomery Morrison; brother, R. Rodney Howell; sister-in-law, Elsie Howell; brothers-in-law, Winfred Wise and Phillip Lett Sr.; and one grandson.

A memorial service was held May 10 at Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

Lucy Covington McFalls

CORNELIUS – Lucy Covington McFalls, 80, died May 5, 2014, at Novant Health-Charlotte.

She was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Davidson, to the late James Benjamin and Lottie Cathcart Covington.

McFalls worked as a nurse’s aid for Huntersville Oaks for 23 years.

Survivors include husband, Lloyd; daughters, Doris Al-Taher, Becky Kelly and husband, Danny, and Cathy Nantz and husband, Norman; sons, Lloyd McFalls Jr. and wife, Lori, and David and John McFalls; brothers, Benny and Kenny Covington; sisters, Jenny Davidson and husband, Bruce, Linda Livengood and husband Steve, and Nancy Huffman; and 59 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry Leroy Caldwell

CORNELIUS – Jerry Leroy Caldwell, 82, died May 4, 2014, at Novant Health-Charlotte.

He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Cornelius, to the late Emmet Forrester and Kathleen Hucks Caldwell.

Caldwell was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a training technician for the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene White Caldwell; son, Ed Caldwell and wife, Lisa of Cornelius; sister, Glenda Gale Jetton; and one granddaughter.

Services were held May 8 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

David Maurice Mulcahy

HUNTERSVILLE – David Maurice Mulcahy, 58, died May 4, 2014, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1956, in Fayette County, Ky., to the late Maurice and Mary Amos Mulcahy.

Mulcahy was senior project manager for Juba Aluminum Products.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughter, Alison Mulcahy Hudson and husband, Greg; son, Lee Mulcahy; and brothers, Daniel and Douglas Mulcahy.

CORNELIUS – Leslie Calhoun McNamara, 50, died May 3, 2014.

She was born May 11, 1963, in Shelby, to Bob and Patsy Calhoun.

McNamara taught finishing her career at St. Marks Catholic School.

Survivors include her parents; husband, Patrick; daughters, Shannon and Madison McNamara, both of Cornelius; sister, Beth Lorey of Cornelius; and brother, Robert Calhoun.
