HUNTERSVILLE –  Huntersville Police arrested a man accused of firing shots with a rifle during a traffic altercation on Davidson-Concord Road (N.C. 73).

Police responded to a call at 5:39 p.m. May 14 to the 17000 block of Davidson Concord Road in reference to shots fired. The victim told police that the driver of another vehicle fired at him with a rifle during a traffic altercation.

The victim followed the suspect vehicle as he drove away and updated 911 with the direction of travel.

Officers found the vehicle on Old Statesville Road near the intersection of Holbrook Road. They arrested the driver and found a loaded AR-15 rifle.

Bradley Lawrence Mahdinec, 39, of Concord, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
