Support those in the community who are battling or lost their lives to cancer in this all-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event will include entertainment as fundraising teams walk around the track.

Movies in the Park

Radiant Life’s Movies In The Park Huntersville presents a free family night of entertainment featuring the Disney film “Frozen” displayed on a 20-by-25-foot outdoor screen with a concert-grade sound system. The church will provide free drinks, popcorn and give-a-ways. Pre-movie entertainment for children, includes face painting, tattoos, balloon animals and games.

Town Day

The 43rd annual event celebrates community services achievement of citizens. Nonprofits and community groups will have booths with games and activities.

School of Rock Funfest

School of Rock Charlotte will perform songs from current Top 40 hits. Ricky Calud-Ellis, winner of Lake Norman Has Talent, will also perform. The festival includes inflatables, arts and craft activities, face painting, a balloon artist, interactive games and concessions.

The Lake Norman Bags and Brews Festival

The festival features music Noah Guthrie and High Wire, a sanctioned corn hole tournament and beer vendors including Mother Earth Brewing, Big Boss, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Olde Hickory Brewery, Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing, Lonerider, Natty Greene's and Aviator Brewing Company. Registration for the corn hole tournament will be held prior to the festival 8-10 a.m. The festival supports the Captain Mark McDowell Memorial Foundation.

World War II Re-enactment

Experience the D-Day invasion of France! Latta Plantation will be transformed into a French farm and the battle that will take place each day will be a representation of what happened after the Allied forces landed on the beach and pushed inland.

Spring Fashion Show

The L.A. Studio for Fashion and Modeling hosts a spring fashion show to benefit Little Smiles NC, a nonprofit that provides toys, games, DVDs, computers, VIP outings and celebrity meet and greets to children in hospitals, hospices and shelters. The fashion show will feature “high tea” and requests formal dress attire. Clothes from Chico’s and Peek A Boo Couture N.C. will be modeled. Admission costs $30 for adults and $13 for children under 13.

ReStore ReStyle Design Challenge

Eight designers decorate rooms with donated household items in this fundraiser for Our Towns Habitat for Humanity. Advance tickets cost $25 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine and an opportunity to shop from the rooms early.
