Charlotte Motor Speedway AutoFair
Billed as the world’s largest automotive extravaganza, the AutoFair boasts thousands of cars, as well as auctions, vendors and a children’s zone. Among the cars displayed is the last car driven by the late Elvis Presley – a 1973 Stutz Blackhawk. Tickets cost $10 for adults and free for ages 13 and younger. Weekend passes cost $30.

Spring Concert Series
The Shoppes at University Place kicks off its Spring Concert Series with a performance by Early Ray. Future performers include Skate Rink Jukebox (April 10), Hot Sauce (April 17) and Coconut Groove (April 24). The outdoor concerts don’t require admission.

Movie in the Park
The Town of Mooresville’s recreation department screens the Disney film “Frozen,” which happens to sum up the region’s unusually long winter season. Bring a chair or blanket.

Explore the Spring Night Skies
World of Wonder, Woodland Discovery and Davidson Lands Conservancy sponsor a night of stargazing. The physics department from Davidson College and the Charlotte Astronomy Club are providing equipment and expertise for the event.

Repticon Charlotte boasts the area’s premier expo for reptiles and exotic animals. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for ages 5-12. Two-day tickets (April 5-6) cost $15 for adults and $5 for ages 5-12. Ages 4 and younger get in free.

Cornelius Spring Festival
Volunteers engage in the annual spring clean-up in the Smithville and Meridan Street areas of Cornelius. After the clean-up, the Smithville Community Coalition hosts live music, barbecue, a children’s zone and free raffle.

Mac and Cheese Cook Off
What does macaroni and cheese have in common with fashion? They’re both interests kids just eat up. After several Mooresville companies vie for the Best Downtown Mac and Cheese Chef Award, students from Future Fashion Designers hit the runway, showing off designs they’ve created under the guidance of Hollywood costume designer Shawnelle Cherry. Tickets cost $20 for ages 14 and older and $10 for ages 13 and younger.

The Brubeck Project
The Brubeck Project performs the last installment of the Alexander Community Concert Series of the season. The concert will serve as a musical tribute to jazz great Dave Brubeck. Tickets cost $15 for adults; $10 for seniors and students; and free for children younger than 12.

Miley Cyrus concert
From Disney princess to drama queen, Miley Cyrus brings her Bangerz Tour to Charlotte. In previous concerts, she dances with animals, rides a giant hot dog and sings hits like “Can’t Be Tamed” and “23.”
