Davidson College’s ‘Providence Gap’

Music plays an important part of the story in Davidson College’s production of “Providence Gap.” The play’s co-writer, Greensboro musician Laurelyn Dossett, accompanies Davidson College musicians in performing the bluegrass, Appalachian-inspired music that carries the story forward. The play follows an orphan from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the battlegrounds of World War I. Tickets cost $15 general admission, $12 seniors, $10 faculty/staff and $6 students.

Lake Norman Boating and Water Sports Festival

The Carefree Boat Club offers boating and water safety seminars, raffles, hot dogs and hamburgers, and activities for kids including sailboat races, knot tying and rescue boat tours. The event raises money to support Levine Children’s Hospital.

Connie Company’s ‘James and the Giant Peach’

A magical peach! Gigantic insect friends! An incredible journey! What more could an imprisoned boy ask for? Davidson Community Players’ Connie Company opens its latest production, “James and the Giant Peach,” about a boy in need of escape. The 70-minute play is perfect for children as their first live theater experience. Tickets cost $10.

Casino Night

The Bit O’ Luck Horse Rescue holds its inaugural Casino Night fundraiser, featuring casino games, a silent auction, raffle items and a cash bar. Cocktail attire is requested. Tickets cost $50 in advance or $60 at the door, which includes $500 start-up play money.

Spring Concert Series
