CORNELIUS – A former Community School of Davidson official is expected to appear in court July 19 after being charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with children.

The offense is punishable as a Class F felony, according to the state statue.

Cornelius Police arrested Kevin Green, 45, of Cornelius, on June 11. Green “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did take and attempt to take immoral, improper, and indecent liberties with (a juvenile) who was under the age of 16 years at the time, for the purpose of arousing and gratifying sexual desire,” according to the magistrate’s order. The order states that the alleged incident occurred June 6.

Green turned himself into the Mecklenburg County Sheriff Office after being charged again on June 20 and June 27, Cornelius police spokeswoman Betsy Shores said.

Shores added that little information about the charges is being released as the investigation is ongoing and involves three juveniles.

The alleged incident occurred in Cornelius and not at the Community School of Davidson, Shores confirmed.

Green served as director of facilities, business and personnel. School officials could not be reached before press time.

Green was released on bond, totaling $85,000 for the three counts, according to court documents.
