Anice Cargo

CHARLOTTE – Funeral services for Anice Cargo, 85, were held on May 9, 2013, at Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte

She died May 2, 2013, at her son’s residence in Charlotte.

Cargo was born June 7, 1927, in Cleveland, to the late Raymond C. Adams and Mae Cline Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband for more than 60 years, Stanley P. Cargo; son, Stanley P. Cargo Jr.; and brothers, Dan Adams and Carmen Adams.

Survivors include her son, Mark Cargo and wife, Karen, of Charlotte; sisters, Christine Anderson, Janet McDaniel, Ann Arey and Peggy Wilhelm; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marion B. Garrity

MOORESVILLE – Funeral services for Marion B. Garrity, 95, will be held privately in West Haven, Conn.

She died May 2, 2013, at Genesis HealthCare.

Garrity was born Feb. 12, 1918, in New Haven, Conn., to Herbert C. and Florence G. Blaisdell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James J. Garrity.

Survivors include her two sons, George Garrity of Stratford, Conn., and James J. Garrity Jr. of Cornelius; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Charles William Schisler

DAVIDSON – Funeral services for Charles William Schisler, 96, were held May 5, 2013, at First Assembly of God in Mooresville.

Schisler died April 30. 

He was born July 28, 1916, in Macomb, Ill., to Glen and Hattie Schisler.

Schisler was a electronic and microwave-design engineer at Martin Marietta and studied biomedical engineering at Duke University. He worked on the Pershing Missile System and designed electronics for several radar and missile-guidance systems.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Marjorie Deakins Schisler, Betty Trenary Schisler and Ruth Mundy Thompson Schisler.

Survivors include his stepson, Richard Thompson and wife, Melissa; step-daughter, Dianna Abercrombie; and nephews, Gilbert and Chuck Smith.

Mary Evelyn Tedder

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Tedder, 62, will be held May 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive.

She died April 28 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House.

Tedder was born Oct. 18, 1950, in Cleveland County, to the late John and Sunshine Tedder.

A graduate of Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she was a librarian for the Guilford County school system for 28 years.

Survivors include her sister, Amy Williams, and husband, Jerry; brother, John Tedder, and wife, Gail; nieces and nephews, Caroline Arndt Livingood, Alex Arndt, Drew Arndt, Mary Catherine Williams and Mark Williams.

Gordon Robert Robinson 

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Gordon Robert Robinson, 73, were held May 1, 2013, at St. Mark Catholic Church.

He died April 27 at his home.

Robinson was born March 10, 1940, in Port Chester, N.Y., to the late Gordon and Mary Robinson.

Serving in the U.S. Army, Robinson was in the infantry during the Berlin Crisis. He spent his career in the construction and restaurant business.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; daughter, Christine Fischetti and husband, Michael; brother, Ronald Robinson and wife, Terry; grandchildren, Erica, Amanda and Michael; nephew, Johnny; and niece, Jennifer.

Gloria Hintz

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Gloria Cabal Hintz, 69, were held May 1, 2013, at Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte.

She died April 27 at her home.

Hintz was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Bogotá, Colombia, to the late Daniel and Aura Cabal.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Hintz of Huntersville; son, Robert Hintz and wife, Rebecca, of Mooresville; daughter, Carol Hollingsworth and husband, John; brothers, Arturo and Daniel; and grandchildren, Rebekah, Anna, Rachel and Benjamin.
