HUNTERSVILLE – North Mecklenburg High’s track team is sending a triple-winner and double-winner to the N.C. 4A West regional meet May 11.

Sabrina Moore won three events at the I-MECK 4A conference girls meet May 1. Her winning efforts were in the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds), 200-meter dash (25.41) and long jump (16 feet, seven inches).

Teammate Michael Parkins, a middle distance runner, captured two titles in the boys conference meet. He won the 400-meter race (49.85) and the 800-meter race (2:00.46).

North Mecklenburg’s Nicholas Lawson, Jaiquain Manning, Parkins and Rashaan Williams combined to win the 1,600-meter relay in 3:23.94 and earned a trip to the regional.

The N.C. 4A West regional will be at Asheville Reynolds High at 10 a.m.

Hopewell

Girls: Destiny Chisholm (100- and 300-meter hurdles), Sydney Samuels (300-meter hurdles), Olivia Walker (long jump), the 400-meter relay team of Alexa Belhomme, Chisholm, Walker and Maria Washington, 800-meter relay team of Belhomme, Emma Carroll, Chonel Chase and Chisholm, and 1,600-meter relay team of Chase, Alexis Flack, Ashley Foster and Samuels.

Hough

Girls: Jordan Hartsell (100-meter hurdles), Kristen Williams (high jump) and 3,200-meter relay team (Heloise Hedlune, Beana Jenkins, Sara Lackey and Lexi Powers).

Boys: Hough’s Tyler Phillips (long jump) and 400-meter relay team (Corey Bell, Fields, Caleb Hines and Phillips).

North Mecklenburg

Girls: Jhatanah Thomas and Jasmine Gary (triple jump).

Boys: Rashaan Williams (800 and 1,600 meters), Devon Sutton (110- and 300-meter hurdles), Stephan Snyder (1,600 meters) and 800-meter relay team of Sebastian Allgood, DeQuan Eaves, DeAllen Hargrove and Micah Phonson

• Community School of Davidson’s Malia Ellington won the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs convincingly at the N.C. 1A Midwest regional meet. She won the 800 in 2:20.1, more than eight seconds ahead of the runner-up. Ellington set two regional records with times of 5:12.23 in the 1,600 and 11:30.24 in the 3,200. She won the 1,600 by 23 seconds and the 3,200 by almost one minute.

Community School of Davidson’s Tina Brumm was third in the high jump and Mercy Woods was second in the triple jump. They’ll all compete in the N.C. 1A championship meet May 10 at N.C. A&T in Greensboro. Field events begin at 10 a.m. and the finals at 1:30 p.m.

• Lake Norman Charter’s contingent at the 1A state meet includes girls Danielle Clark and Stephanie Zaino in the 1,600 meters, and Vicki Kohlwey (3,200 meters). Knights competing in the boys meet are Keaton Cooper (800 meters), the 3,200-meter relay team (Cooper, Stephen Hack, Robert Sevin and Sean Powers) and 1,600-meter relay team (LaMarcus Smith-Kelley, Cooper, Powers and Max Fairbaien).
