Clark Donnell Goodrum

CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Clark Donnell Goodrum, 77, were held May 18, 2013, at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Goodrum died May 14 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis

He was born Nov.2, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Horace Willis Goodrum and Sarah Ellis Caldwell Goodrum.

Goodrum served in the N.C. Air National Guard and retired from Ford Motor Company after more than 40 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ballard Goodrum and infant sister, Barbara Ann.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Sides Goodrum; brother, Thomas Goodrum and wife, Jackie; children, Lisa Bambach and husband, John, Alison Hendren and husband, Johnnie, and Wesley Goodrum and wife, Amy; step-children, Dean Barbee and wife, Karen, Paula Crisco and husband, Scott, and Todd Barbee and wife, Susanna; eleven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Doris F. Mason

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Doris F. Mason, 92, were held May 20, 2013, at New Beginnings Moravian Church.

Mason died May 14 at Olde Knox Commons. 

She was born on Dec. 9, 1920, in Washington, D.C., to the late Leland and Alice Hendricks.

She worked as a secretary for the National Bureau of Standards.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; son, Don Mason; daughter, Bette Durham and husband, Larry; and two grandchildren.

Jack Thurston Wilson

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Jack Thurston Wilson, 84, were held May 16, 2013, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Wilson died May 12. 

He was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Robert and Roxie Wilson.

Survivors include his nephew, Ron Wilson; great nieces and nephews, Mary Gregg of Mooresville, Tiffany Wilson, Ron Wilson, David Wilson, Douglas Wilson, and Scott and Tracy Wilson.

Charles Chapman 

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Charles L. Chapman, 79, were held May 15, 2013, at Northdale Baptist Church.

Chapman died May 12 at his home. 

He was born on Oct. 25, 1933, to the late David and Kate Chapman.

Chapman served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his sons, Lamar Chapman and wife, Traci, of Huntersville, and Nelson Chapman and wife, Deborah, of Cornelius; four grandsons and one great-grandson.

Wilson Reid Whitlow

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Wilson Reid Whitlow, 89, were held May 13, 2013, at Independence Hill Baptist Church.

Whitlow died May 11 at The Gardens of Taylor Glen. 

He was born on Oct. 22, 1923, in Mecklenburg County, to the late John W. Whitlow and Pinkie Ferrell Witlow.

After graduating from Huntersville High School in 1942, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 bomber radio operator during World War II. He owned and operated Whitlow’s Body Shop in Huntersville and also worked in TV and radio repair. He later joined Magla Products as a plant engineer and retired after 25 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Hucks Whitlow and brothers Charles and Clarence Whitlow.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy Murphy and Margaret Howard and husband, Thomas; brother, John Ross Whitlow; grandchildren, Caitlin Kirby and husband Greg, Sean Murphy and wife, Amy, Nathan Howard and Jamie Murphy; and five great-grandchildren.

Jean Russell Seidner

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Jean Elsie Seidner, 89, were held May 14, 2013, at Poland United Methodist Church in Ohio.

Seidner died May 9, 2013, at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center

She was born on April 13, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Myron and Mildred Russell.

Seidner worked in data processing for Automatic Sprinkler, Republic Steel and McNicholas Transfer Trucking prior to retiring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen Seidner Sr., and brothers Richard and David Russell.

Survivors include her son, Galen Seidner Jr. and wife, Kim Seidner; brother, James Russell; and sister, Grace Thomas.
