Davidson College welcomes back the illustrious Davidson Trio of violinist Rosemary Furniss, cellist Alan Black, and pianist Dana Protopopescu to close this season’s successful Concert Series.

The program will feature Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op. 1, No. 3 and Brahms’s Piano Trio in C Major, Op. 87, No. 2, among other canonical works.

Rosemary Furniss joined the Davidson family last year when she accepted the position of Artist Associate in Violin.

She also currently serves as Artistic Director and Concertmaster of the London Chamber Orchestra and is highly active in promoting local classical music education after moving to the area with her husband Christopher Warren-Green, conductor of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

Alan Black continues to serve as Principal Cellist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and maintains his position at Davidson as Artist Associate in Cello and Chamber Music.

Black also serves as Artistic Director of the Concert Series.

Dana Protopopescu, a native of Bucharest, is an active performer and award-winning recording artist.

She has worked with notable conductors throughout Europe and performed in many prestigious festivals worldwide.

The performance will be at 3:00 p.m. April 7 in Tyler-Tallman Hall in the Sloan Music Center.
