DAVIDSON – The Davidson Police Department made an arrest in a robbery on Main Street April 8.
Alfred Ray Gibson, of Mooresville, was charged with common law (unarmed) robbery of Fifth Third Bank.
The department obtained a warrant April 23. He is in the Iredell County Jail in Statesville, where his is being held on other charges not related to the bank robbery.
“This arrest was made possible by networking with other law enforcement agencies and multiple interviews,” said Administrative Sergeant and Supervisor of Investigations Barney Poole. “I am glad we were able to solve this case.”
Gibson is accused of entering the bank, at 124 S. Main St., just before noon April 8. Police said he implied he had a weapon, and then ran away headed north on Main Street.
Gibson is being held on a $20,000 secured bond, and will appear in court at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse on April 26.
