How local restaurants fared in health inspections


Health departments in Lincoln and Iredell counties inspected the following restaurants from April 8-15. The Mecklenburg County Health Department did not inspect and Lake Norman-area restaurants in that time frame. 

 

Mooresville

• Denny’s, 378 W. Plaza Drive, Inspected April 8. Score: 96.5.

• Hardee’s, 456 River Hwy., Inspected April 9. Score: 97.5.

• Harris Teeter Meat and Seafood, 118 Argus Lane, Inspected April 8. Score: 100.

• Harris Teeter Meat and Seafood, 134 Town Center Drive, Inspected April 9. Score: 99.

• Hooters of Lake Norman, 132 Gallery Center Drive, Inspected April 10. Score: 99.

• Little Caesars of Mooresville, 107 Commons Drive, Inspected April 10. Score: 95.5. Critical Violations: Improper eating, drinking, or tobacco use. Drinks were not in covered containers. Sanitizer not at proper chemical levels.

• Long Island Bagels, 539 E. Plaza Drive, Inspected April 10. Score: 93. Critical Violations: Cooking utensils kept in unclean area between prep area and refrigerator. Food held at improper hot and cold temperatures.

• Lowe’s Foods, 125 Center Square Drive, Inspected April 9. Score: 100.

 

Denver

• Cookout, 7569 N.C. 73, Inspected April 11. Score: 99.5

• Triangle Hen House Café, 1298 N.C. 16 N. Inspected April 11. Score: 97.5. Critical Violation: Improper cold holding temperatures for bacon and eggs.

 

Statesville

• Dairy Queen, 131 Turnersburg Hwy., Inspected April 12. Score: 98.

• El Picoso, 1423 Salisbury Hwy., Inspected April 8. Score: 95. Critical Violations: Employee hand-washing sinks were out of soap. Need to purchase test strips to check chemical levels in sanitizer. Foods prepared in the restaurant were not marked with dates.

• Food Lion Meat Market, 1737 Wilkesboro Hwy., Inspected April 12. Score: 100.

• Ingle’s, 3219 Taylorsville Hwy., Inspected April 9. Score: 98.5. Critical Violations: Hamburger meat stored on top of ice in walk-in cooler.

• Monticello School Cafeteria, 435 Monticello Road, Inspected April 8. Score: 100.

• Petro Express, 131 Turnersburg Hwy., Inspected April 12. Score 99.5.

• The Alamo, 646 Shelton Ave., Inspected April 9. Score: 99.5.
