The Davidson College men’s basketball team (26-7) was seeded 14th in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, and will play No. 3 seed Marquette in the first round Thursday in Lexington, Ky.

Davidson will take a 17-game winning streak into the tournament. The Wildcats swept three games last weekend at the Southern Conference tournament to earn the automatic NCAA bid.

This will be Davidson’s second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Thursday's game time will be announced Monday.

Marquette (23-8) tied with Louisville and Georgetown for the regular-season title in the Big East Conference. All three had 14-4 conference records. The Golden Eagles have won two games in each of the past two NCAA tournaments, and have appeared in the past seven tournaments.

Davidson will be making its seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament under coach Bob McKillop, and 12th overall.
