Six Davidson Day senior athletes signed National Letters of Intent in a ceremony Feb. 6 to continue their careers in college.

Young, a wide receiver,  signed with Cornell University and is Davidson Day’s first Ivy Leaguer. Coleman, an offensive tackle, will play at North Carolina. Seward, a wide receiver, signed with Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn.

Murphy, a defender, signed with Queens University of Charlotte. Rodriques, a midfielder, will play at South Carolina Upstate. Clark, a midfielder, signed with Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C.

The six signees were part of back-to-back state championships. The soccer team won the N.C. Independent Schools 2A title last spring and the state 1A title in 2011. The football team was the NCISAA 2A champion last November, and won the 1A title in 2011.
