ASHEVILLE – The Ms. Wheelchair North Carolina Pageant, a nonprofit advocacy and activism organization, is seeking contestants for its 2013 pageant.

The annual pageant will be held on April 6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Asheville.

The pageant showcases the accomplishments and achievements of women who utilize wheelchairs for daily mobility.

Contestants are judged on their personal accomplishments and achievements since the onset of their disability, communication skills and participation in peer and civic groups. They are also judged on their public relation skills, advocacy for people with disabilities, self-confidence, motivation, initiative and creativity.

The application deadline and $100 entry fee is due by 5 p.m. March 1.
