Holiday decoration store opens in Davidson

DAVIDSON – Owners Gary Skaggs and Frank Schuster officially opened the retail arm of Seasons at the Lake with a chamber-sponsored ribbon cutting recently.

The business partners recently decided to expand their professional decorating company by offering merchandise.

The store, located at 428 S. Main St., specializes in professionally decorating residential and commercial properties, inside and out, for all seasons, holidays and events of the year.

For those who prefer to decorate themselves, the store offers a vast assortment of Christmas decorations, adornments, accents and décor.

Jackrabbit Technologies recognized for excellence

HUNTERSVILLE – Jackrabbit Technologies has the best workplace culture in the area, according to the North Carolina Technology Association.

The company, which provides online class management software for youth activities centers, received an NCTA21 award three previous times, but this is a first for the Best Workplace Culture category.

The Charlotte Business Journal also ranked the company as number 21 in the small business category out of 77 small, mid-sized and large businesses as best place to work, making this its fourth consecutive year of recognition from the publication.

Dalton prepares healthy holiday meals

DAVIDSON – Lois Dalton always received rave reviews from family and friends for her cooking talent. So, she turned that talent into a business opportunity with Dinner by Design.

She meets with her clients, planning out a variety of healthy meals to prepare.

“It’s a great option if you have out-of-town guests or a very busy schedule and need dinner prepared all week,” said Lynne Priestley, a friend of Dalton’s. “Lois can help you plan and prepare for your guests.”

One recent menu included guacamole salad, a mixed green salad with caramelized onions and feta cheese, lasagna roll-ups with different fillings and an appetizer of pizza with spinach, feta and mozzarella. For dessert, Dalton prepared red velvet cupcakes with cream-cheese icing

Dentist celebrates milestone

HUNTERSVILLE – Dr. Neil Welborne will celebrate 20 years with his dental practice Welborne, White and O’Leary on Dec. 12.

Welborne started the practice in 1993 in Huntersville after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
