HUNTERSVILLE – Ellen Jeanne Ason, 67, died Dec. 17, 2013.

She was born Dec. 1, 1946, to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene DuBois.

Ason was a nurse with Forbes Regional Health Centers in Wilkensburg and Monroeville, Pa.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Christine; son, Jeffrey; brother, Steven DuBois and wife, Andee; sister, Marjorie and husband, James Hunter; and three grandchildren,

Johnny D. Duckworth

HUNTERSVILLE – Johnny D. Duckworth, 63, died Dec. 17, 2013.

He was born Nov. 7, 1949, in Union County, Ga., to the late Ranson and Lucille Duckworth.

Survivors include his wife, Teena; son, Ronald and wife, Shawmarie; daughters, Dawn Caldwell and husband, Kenny, and Stacy Barberio and husband, Jimmy; sisters, Faye and Phyllis; brother, Roger; and 10 grandchildren.

John Ward Jr.

CORNELIUS – John Ward Jr., 90, died Dec. 17, 2013.

He was born June 25, 1923, in Paradise, Ark., to the late John Ward and Missie Best Ward.

Ward was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Naval Air Station Point Mugu.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; and sister, Ouida Paine.

Survivors include his brother, J.D. Ward.

Annie Long Blakely

CORNELIUS – Annie Long Blakely, 99, died Dec. 16, 2013.

She was born July 24, 1914, to the late Oscar and Jenny Graham Long.

Blakely worked at Burlington Mills in Mooresville and later at Mary Mac’s Dress Shop in Cornelius.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Blakely.

Survivors include her son, Johnny and wife, Simone; daughters, Joanne McGee and husband, Johnny, and Mary Robinette and husband, Silas; sister, Mary Abernathy; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Robert Edward Williams

CORNELIUS – Robert Edward Williams, 70, died Dec. 15, 2013.

He was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Greensburg, Pa., to late James Williams and Florence Wilkinson Williams.

Williams was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired computer programmer with Bank of America.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Williams Johnson and Mary Ann Williams Henderson; and brothers, James Williams Jr. and Richard Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Roberts Williams; sons, Timothy Williams and wife, Stacey, Willie Williams and wife, Barbie, and Joe Williams and wife Jennifer; daughter, Nikki Hughes and husband, Mitch; stepdaughters, Beth Hernandez and husband, Michael, and Courtney Honeycutt and husband, Blair; sisters, Lois Williams Friedline and Mae Williams Johnson; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Frederick Everett Evans

DAVIDSON – Frederick Everett Evans, 101, died Dec. 14, 2013.

He was born July 19, 1912, in New York City, N.Y., to the late Frederick Evans Sr. and Margaret Murray Evans.

Evans was a U.S. Army veteran and owned Evans Art in Flowers in New York City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Evans.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Jacques and Nancy Dellinger; brother, Ross Evans; sister-in-law, Dorothy Evans; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4-5 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Pines.

CORNELIUS – Douglas “Doug” Frank Allison, died Dec. 13, 2013.

He was born in Oklahoma to Jack Ellis and Margaret Haferland Allison.
