CORNELIUS – As the weather chills, the Cornelius Art Center holds a variety of classes to enrich creativity indoors.

The center offers numerous adult art classes this winter that focus on understanding the fundamentals of throwing pottery, oil painting, darkroom photography, home décor, jewelry making, drawing, working with fabrics and writing blogs.

Preschool to high school students can also enroll in classes about constructing Lego worlds, puppet making, theater, video game animation and sketching in 3D, among others.

Registration for most classes closes in mid-January, and many courses welcome all levels of experience. Fees vary from about $65 to $190 for the eight-week programs.

The center is located at 19725 Oak St.
