Do you have hopes and dreams? Do you have big plans and big vision for your life? Do you know that you got it from your Dad?
When I was a kid, I continually got busted for daydreaming in class. I loved it, but my teachers did not find it amusing. I would think about elaborate, detailed future scenarios in which I would be doing some mind-blowing things!
As an adult, I have not stopped. I have tried to stop, but I’m wired for ideation. I think all of us are to some level. We all dream of a better tomorrow, it’s in our genes. How do I know this? Because I believe we were created by God, our Dad.
In Jeremiah 1:4 God tells Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
In others words, “Jeremiah, I have been dreaming about you before you were born. I have big plans, big dreams for you. ”
In John 3:16, Jesus tells John the Father’s dream for humanity. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
In other words, our Father’s biggest hope and biggest dream is that we would choose to have a relationship with Him through his Son. He risked his Son for it.
So keep dreaming big. I pray that your dreams come true. But I pray more that your Dad’s dream for you comes true.
