DAVIDSON – Nash Grier, a sophomore at Davidson Day School, is making national headlines after his appearance on "Good Morning America’s" Oct. 16 show.
Since April, the 15-year-old has crafted 129 videos for the Twitter app, Vine, which allows users to film 6-second movies.
With 1.5 million followers, he’s ranked just below Harry Styles, the British singer who’s part of the pop sensation “One Direction.” And he outranks Ellen DeGeneres at spot 34 and Miley Cyrus, who holds spot 61 of Vine’s 13 million users.
Grier’s 4-year-old sister, Skylynn, is featured in one of his videos, singing along to the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow.”
On "Good Morning America," Grier made a video trying to pronounce ABC journalist George Stephanopoulos’ name and interrupted a weather report from Sam Champion to simply say, “It’s cold.”
A highlight of the show was Grier meeting actor Sylvester Stallone, who joked that with Grier’s videos, “There could be a Rocky Eight Million by now. Seriously kid, you just revived my career.”
