Applications for several scholarship programs are now available through Foundation for the Carolinas, including:
• Andersen Nontraditional Scholarship for Women’s Education and Retraining: Awarded to women age 25 and older who are raising school-age children. Applicants must be residents of Mecklenburg County or adjoining counties.
• William Tasse Alexander Scholarship: Awarded to rising college juniors and seniors who plan to pursue teaching as a career. Applicants must be legal residents of Mecklenburg County.
• Carolina Panthers Players Sam Mills Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to athletes from Mecklenburg and Spartanburg counties on the basis of leadership, citizenship and academic merit.
• Carolinas Stadium Corporation Scholarship: Provides graduate-level scholarships to athletes in North and South Carolina on the basis of leadership, citizenship and academic merit.
• Carolinas-Virginias Hardware Scholarship: Awarded to children of employees of member firms of the National Retail Hardware Association based in the Carolinas, Virginia or West Virginia.
• Crowder Scholarship: Awards scholarships to dependent children of employees of general contracting companies that are members of Carolinas Associated General Contractors of America Inc. and headquartered in Mecklenburg County.
• Gratitude Endowment Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to college students age 25 or older attending or re-entering Central Piedmont Community College, Queens University or UNC Charlotte.
• Spirit Square Center For Arts and Education Scholarship: Awarded to Mecklenburg-area college juniors and seniors with an interest in the arts.
• Turner Family Scholarship: Awards undergraduate scholarships to Mecklenburg County residents planning to attend an accredited college or vocational school in Mecklenburg County.
