CHARLOTTE – What’s important for your school next year?

Heath Morrison, superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, is seeking public input on the top priorities for the school budget for next year and beyond.

The district has posted a survey on the CMS website for members of the community to provide feedback on priorities to help the district leaders allocate resources.

“The survey has a dual purpose. We want to share information with you about our budget challenges to provide context, and we also want to ask you what you think is important,” Morrison said in a letter to the community.

The survey asks about issues such as funding sources, per-student spending, factors that affect the budget and employee pay, among others.

Morrison identified eight strategic goals for the district in November 2012. The community feedback will help the district create a budget that aligns with those goals.

The anonymous survey will be open through Feb. 8 on the district website, www.cms.k12.nc.us. Results will be analyzed and shared with the public.
