HUNTERSVILLE – The Peninsula Community Foundation recently presented Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville with a check for nearly $7,000.

The gift will be used to provide examination equipment at the hospital so sexual assault victims in the Lake Norman area can stay in their community for comprehensive care, including forensic examination.

During forensic examinations, nurses collect evidence that will help persecute the perpetrators of assault victims.

Todd Wiebusch, president of the Peninsula Community Foundation, presented the check to Inge Garrison, senior director of nursing at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville.
