HUNTERSVILLLE – U.S. Congresswoman Sue Myrick will serve as a guest speaker at the North Mecklenburg Republican Women’s fourth annual Pig Pickin’ and Politickin’ GOP Rally and BBQ Dinner.



Myrick has represented the 9th district of North Carolina for nine terms and was Charlotte’s first female mayor, serving two terms prior to her election to Congress. She announced plans to retire earlier this year.

Her son, Dan Forest, is running for lieutenant governor.

The dinner starts at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at the NorthStone Club, 15801 NorthStone Drive, Huntersville. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Dress is casual. Admission costs $20, cash or check.
