CORNELIUS – Developers of a proposed apartment complex in Cornelius have suspended plans for the site after residents complained during a community meeting.
The Madison at Lake Norman apartments were proposed for a site adjacent to Magnolia Estates. Residents voiced their disapproval for the design of the buildings and the effect the complex would have on traffic in this part of Cornelius at a community meeting in early September.
B.V. Belk Properties, the owner of the site, is putting the rezoning process on hold for now, but intends to revise and bring back a plan to the Town Board, that the community can live with.
For more information on the proposal and how Belk Properties will be going forward, read our full coverage in this week's Herald Weekly.
