SALISBURY – Food Lion is asking its customers to support the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital by purchasing $1 football balloons at its local stores.

The company, which has raised more than $40 million since 1991 to support the 32 regional Children’s Hospitals, is hoping to raise $1.2 million in its current campaign, which ends Sept. 18. Earlier this year, Food Lion raised $3.8 million during its miracle balloon campaign in June.
