The Vikings helped coach Brad Baker earn his first career victory with a double-overtime victory in their home debut. North Mecklenburg (1-1) snapped a nine-game losing streak dating to last season.
Vikings quarterback Nolan Beasley, a sophomore, threw four touchdown passes, including two to wideout Tahjai Watt. East Mecklenburg (0-3) has lost 16 straight games.
ARDREY KELL 38, HOPEWELL 33
Hopewell fell to 0-3 after a non-conference loss, but rallied from a 21-0 first-half deficit.
Ardrey Kell improved to 2-0.
Hopewell quarterback Tijuan Sifford was 15-of-32 passing for 263 yards and three touchdowns. His scoring passes went to Jonquez Williams, Dominique Heath and Jermaine Sanders.
