HUNTERSVILLE – Services for Elda A. Nappi will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at Delker-Cox Funeral Home in Mt. Kisco, N.Y.
Nappi, 94, died July 27, 2012.
Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Ridgefield, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Gottardo and Rosa Carboni.
Survivors include her children, Dominick of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., Tina Notorangelo of Conway, S.C., Janet Roider of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., Michael (Heather) Nappi of Bedord Hills, N.Y. and Laurie Ladwig (Rob) Huntersville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville served the family.
Cecil E. Coey
DAVIDSON – Services for Cecil E. Coey will be held at the convenience of the family.
Coey, 87, died July 27, 2012.
Born Jan. 28, 1925, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a son of the late Floyd M. and Edith Reeder Coey.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, participating in the Battle of the Bulge, the invasion of Normandy and D Day.
He received two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M. Coey; granddaughter, Ashley Coey; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Tim and wife Mary of Huntersville, and Larry and wife, Penny, of Elyria, Ohio; daughter, Nancy Coey, of Fort Myers, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Rockwell Lewis Deaton Jr.
DAVIDSON – Services for Rockwell Lewis Deaton Jr. will be held at noon, Aug. 4 at Davidson College Presbyterian Church.
Deaton, 59, died July 26, 2012, after a 2 1/2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Aug. 18, 1952, he was a son of the late Rockwell Lewis and Eugenia Howard Deaton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Francis Eugene Deaton.
Survivors include his husband, Jon Robert Guttman; children, Jeffrey Guttman and wife Ellyn, and Amy Guttman Sutter and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Zoey and Maddox Guttman; and mother-in-law, Irene Guttman.

Wayne Herman Torrence
CONCORD – Services for Wayne Herman Torrence were held July 28 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Torrence, 87, formerly of Cornelius, died July 25, 2012, at his home. Born Nov. 2, 1924, in Cornelius, he was a son of the late Ralph Alexander Torrence and Zettie Poole Torrence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Torrence and brother, Ted Torrence.
Survivors include his sons, Scot Torrence and wife Denise of Albemarle, Rick Torrence and wife Marla of Rock Hill, S.C.; daughter, Jody Brakefield of Chester, S.C.; stepchildren, Barbara Bastian, Bill Cook and Brenda Patrick; grandchildren, Holly King, Jill Torrence, Katie Hefner, Zach Torrence’ and eight great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Elizabeth McMinn Thompson
HUNTERSVILLE – Services for Dorothy Elizabeth McMinn Thompson will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 4, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Greenville, S.C.
Thompson, 90, was born Aug. 10, 1921, to the late Jesse Pearl Pollard McMinn and George Edward McMinn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Floyd Thomspon.
Survivors include her children, Marion Floyd Thompson Jr. (Chip) and Elizabeth Thompson Carroll (Beth), Sabra Thompson and Roland Carroll; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will meet with friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
