Eugene Mack Puckett

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Eugene “Gene” Mack Puckett Jr. were held Aug. 18 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.

A burial followed in the church cemetery.

Puckett, 86, of Huntersville, died Aug. 15 at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville.

Born May 5, 1926, in Mecklenburg County, he was a son to the late Eugene Mack Puckett Sr. and Janie Mae Price Puckett.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene M. Puckett III; wife Edna Ritch Puckett; brother, James Puckett and sister Jane Wayland; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jo McMahan Puckett; son, Larry Puckett and wife Robin of Huntersville; daughter, Patti Tilley and husband Tony of Mooresville; daughter-in-law Patty Puckett; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Richard Burns Moore

CORNELIUS – Richard Burns Moore, 75, of Cornelius, died Aug. 15, 2012, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House.

Born Sept. 28, 1936, in Sharon, Conn., he was a son of the late Thomas and Helen Moore.

Survivors include sons, Rick and wife April of Greenwood, S.C., and Sean and wife Barbara of Cornelius; former wife, Adel Stress; and eight grandchildren, Ricky, Amanda, Alissa, Jeffrey, Jenny, Josh, Seth and Collen.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth Wrenn Karriker

DENVER – Funeral services for Kenneth “Bud” Wrenn Karriker were held Aug. 19 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Davidson.

A burial followed in the church cemetery.

Karriker, 72, of Denver, died Aug. 17, 2012, at the Sherrill Ford Hospice House.

Born June 14, 1940, in Mooresville, he was a son of the late Leonard and Julia Winecoff Karriker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 16.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Richard Gibbs and Gary Barrett.

Survivors include his children, Lori Joyner and husband, Sonny, Kenneth W. Karrkier Jr.; sisters, Peggy Gibbs and husband, Herman Huffman, Brenda Barrett; soulmate, Carol Cribb; grandchildren, Shana, Brooke, Austin, Jennifer; and great grandchildren, Natalie and Matthew.

Cloyd Smith Goodrum III

DAVIDSON – Funeral services for Cloyd Smith Goodrum III will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. The family will receive friends following the service.

Goodman, 54, died Aug. 16, 2012 at his home.

Born March 9, 1958, in Davidson, he was a son to the late Cloyd Smith Goodrum Jr. and Bobbie Kiser Goodrum.

He was a professor of computer science at UNC Charlotte.

Survivors include his sister Beverly Ann Goodrum of Charlottesville, Va., brother, William Ashby Goodrum; sister-in-law, Pamela Wolfe Goodrum; neice, Annabelle Rose Goodrum, nephew, Benjamin Kiser Goodrum, and his inlaws-once-removed, John and Dawn Keller.
