DAVIDSON – Sanctuary of Davidson invites parents to bring their children into the Sanctuary for an afternoon of art.
A Sanctuary artist will be on hand 2-4 p.m. Aug. 12 to provide step-by-step instructions for a variety of projects kids and parents can choose from.
The class costs $40 a pair and $20 for each additional child.

Chuckleheads take their Improv Extravaganza to Warehouse PAC
CORNELIUS – The Chuckleheads, a Charlotte-based improvisational theater group, will present its Comedy Improv Musical Variety Extravaganza.
The performance takes place at 8 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Warehouse Performing Arts Center, 9216 Westmoreland Road, Cornelius.
The show combines improvisational comedy, musical games and activities, game show elements and audience participation. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the show to raise money for Actor’s Crib Inc.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be sold before and during the show for a small donation. Parking is free in the lots surrounding the Warehouse Performing Arts Center.
Tickets cost $10 when bought online at www.planetimprov.com or by calling 704-301-1564 and $15 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Acting company holds casting call for two shows
DAVIDSON – Davidson Community Players is seeking actors for two upcoming shows.
Auditions for “Baby, the Musical” take place Aug. 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson. The musical, directed by Melissa Ohlman-Roberge, follows three couples, each expecting a child, who have different, but familiar, reactions. Characters include Lizzie and Danny, college students who have just moved in together; Pam and Nick, a couple who has had trouble conceiving a child; and Arlene and Alan, who are already parents to three grown daughters.
Roles are available for 14-18 strong singer/actors ages 17 and older. The musical will run Oct. 4-21.
Auditions for “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol” take place Sept. 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. at Armour Street Theatre. The play-within-a-play, written by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jr., revolves around a fictitious women’s acting troupe that performs “A Christmas Carol.”
Roles are available for four women and a man ages 21 and older. Matt Cosper will direct. The play will run Nov. 19-Dec. 16.

COASTLINE to perform free concert in Mooresville
MOORESVILLE – COASTLINE will perform during the next installment of Mooresville’s Music on Main summer concert series. The band performs beach music and blues.
Band frontman Jim Quick has earned Carolina Music Awards “Entertainer Of The Year Award” honors nine times. He’s released 11 albums, including “Down South.”
The free concert starts at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7 on the Mooresville Town Hall lawn, 413 N. Main St.
Food and drinks will be available to buy at the concert.
