HUNTERSVILLE — Tyler Owens, 10, received his Junior Padi Certified scuba certification on June 29 at the Lake Norman Scuba Center in Mooresville.

The certification required 12-15 hours of line reading and testing of the PADI manual and a week at camp, which ran from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.

Tyler did a lot of his water training at the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics. His open water dive was at a quarry in Mooresville.
