DAVIDSON — The Parks and Recreation Department hosts a Life-Line Screening at the parks and recreation office at 416 Armour St., Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The screening is to test residents’ vascular health in a quick, easy, low-cost way.
The tests involve the use of ultrasound technology to scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, which can lead to a stroke, aortic aneurysms and plaque buildup in the arteries in the legs.
Also offered for men and women is a bone density screening to assess the risk for osteoporosis.
The screenings take about 90 minutes to complete. Tests costs $60 individually or all five can be done for $149. There’s also a vascular package for $119, wellness package for $129 and a bone density test for $35.
Appointments spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. Sign up by calling toll free to 1-800-324-1851. Registration is not done through the Parks and Recreation office.
