Hugo Eduard Bleuler

CORNELIUS – Hugo Eduard Bleuler, 84, of Cornelius, died June 29, 2012, at his home. Born Dec. 18, 1927 in Chur, Switzerland, he was a son of the late Edward and Irma Bleuler.

Survivors include his wife Karla Ten Brink Bleuler; son, Sidney Bleuler and wife Heidi Strazdus of Greenville, Va.; and brother Kurt Bleuler of Vancouver, Canada.

Services will be private.

Patsy Ann Dellinger

HUNTERSVILLE – Patsy Ann Dellinger, 79, of Huntersville, died June 29, 2012, at Mercy Hospital.

Born Aug. 23, 1932, in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Minnie Wilson Dellinger.

Survivors include numerous cousins.

Services were held July 2 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Allan Purtill officiating. A private burial was held in the church cemetery.

Kaye Caroline Jones Rogers

CHARLOTTE – Kaye Caroline Jones Rogers, 72, of Charlotte, died June 30, 2012.

Born Dec. 4, 1939, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Jennie Ruth (Thornburg) Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Shirley J. Swett.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Eric Rodney Rogers Sr.; her two children and their spouses, Eric and Cindy Rogers of Indian Trail and Candy and Skip Turbeville of Cornelius; six grandchildren; her sisters, Judy Kiser of Monroe and Gail Dixon of Charlotte, and her brother, Pete Jones of Statesville.

A service was held Saturday, July 7, at Independence Hill Baptist Church. Graveside services were private at Sharon Memorial Park.

Donations may be made to the Independence Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Charlotte.

Mary Alice Bass

CORNELIUS – Mary Alice Bass, 74, of Cornelius, died July 1, 2012.

Born June 1, 1938, in Charlotte, she was the daughter of the late Ernest A. Alexander and Agnes Hutchinson Alexander.

Survivors include her sons, Jon Bass of Charlotte and Mark Bass of Waxhaw; daughter, Beth Devereaux of Brandywine, Md.; grandchildren, Mason, Carson, Morghan and Molly Bass.

Joan Mary Harriman Perkins

HUNTERSVILLE – Joan Mary Harriman Perkins, 69, of Huntersville, died July 2, 2012, at the Saturn Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 16, 1942, in Benson, Vt., she was a daughter of the late Arden and Madge Harriman.

Survivors include her husband Edward William Perkins; son, Scott Perkins; daughter, Misty Wright and husband Toby; one brother and six grandchildren.

Jennie Self Wilson

DAVIDSON – Jennie Self Wilson, 70, of Davidson, died July 1, 2012.

Born March 14, 1942, in Duplin County, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Julia Outlaw Self.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Lee Stutts and Howard Wilson and her son, Tony Lee Stutts.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Stutts and wife Shirley of Davidson; sisters, Linda Kerns, Helen Hewett and Reba Saxon; brothers, Ray Self, Henry and Randy Hewett; grandchildren, Brandy, Kyle, John Michael, Mason, Maria and Katie Stutts, Misty Laws and Brittney Hood; five great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Services were held Friday, July 6, in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.  Burial followed at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius.

Geraldine L. Leak Corwin

DAVIDSON – Geraldine L. Leak Corwin, 88, of Davidson, died July 2, 2012, after a short battle with lung cancer at the Pines at Davidson.

Born Aug. 12, 1923, in Southern Huron County, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Golding E. Leak and Julia Trimmer Leak.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Howard Earl in 1950 and William Corwin in 1984; brother, Marvin Leak and sister Marilyn Garland.

Survivors include her sister, Martha A. Leak; daughters, Marcia Earl Humpal and husband David, Margo Corwin Wehrung and husband David; son, Bruce Craig Corwin; stepson, William C. Corwin; grandchildren, Gregory Humpal and wife Suzanne, Shoshana Koppin and husband Gordon, Carolyn DeLisio and husband Chris, Christopher William Corwin, Allison Corwin Wehrung, Alex Wehrung, five great-grandchildren and three nephews.

Services were held Sunday, July 8, at Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

Robert Benjamin Davis

KANNAPOLIS – Robert “Ben” Benjamin Davis, 55, died July 4, 2012, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

Born May 24, 1957, in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of Alfred Allen Davis and Rose Kluttz Davis of Huntersville.

He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1975 and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in criminal justice. He retired as a sergeant of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jean Godwin Davis; daughters, Sarah Davis Franklin and husband Greg of Greenville and Melissa Ann Davis of Kannapolis; sister, Janet Dove and husband Robert of Huntersville; brother, Michael Allen Davis and wife, Debra of Huntersville; nieces, Jennifer Lovelace, Kelly Dove and Holly Sullivan and nephews, Gregory Davis, Nathan Dove and Joshua Sullivan.

Services were held Monday, July 9, at Concord First Assembly with pastor Tom Whidden and father Alex Viola officiating. Police graveside honors followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord conducted by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Mozelle H. Johnson

CORNELIUS – Mozelle H. Johnson, 90, of Cornelius, died Friday, July 6, 2012.

Born in 1922, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. T. Clifford Johnson and two grandchildren, Robert Zackary Dancy and Heather Jean Johnson.

Survivors include her three children, Lynelle and Rob Dancy of Cornelius, Geoffrey and Peggy Johnson of Gambrills, Md., and David Johnson of Cornelius; three grandchildren, Travis and Tina Dancy of Cornelius, Kimberly and Ken Burnett of Davidson and Greg Johnson of Gambrills, Md.; and six great-grandchildren, Todd, Kelly, Layna, Joseph, Kace and Koy.

Services were held Sunday, July 8, at First Baptist Church in Huntersville. A private burial was held in the church cemetery.
