Salsa Showdown at Davidson Farmers Market

Shag lessons begin July 17
Starting Tuesday, July 17, two seven-week sets of shag dance lessons will be offered to the public by Twister’s Shag Club, a nonprofit social group for singles and couples ages 21 and older.
Beginner I lessons start at 7:30 p.m. and are for those who don’t know how to shag.
Beginner II lessons start at 8:30 p.m. and are for those who have taken the first class or are more comfortable with the basic steps and ready to learn more.
Each seven-week set costs $30 per person. Partners are not required for lessons. Students are asked to arrive 30 minutes early during the first week for check in and instructional materials.
Lessons will be in the large room addition to Fat Boys Restaurant located off of Exit 36 in Mooresville.

Warehouse PAC holding auditions for “Sweet Dreams”
CORNELIUS – Actors are wanted for a New York production of “Sweet Dreams,” a new full-length comedy by Cornelius playwright Doug Johnston.
The play, which has been accepted and invited to perform in the 2012 ThespisNY Festival at the Cabrini Repertory Theater in Upper Manhattan, New York, Sept. 19-20 and 23, is being cast in Cornelius.
The play is about two monks who build a dream machine that can go back in time and transport people in their dreams to their cave-like Magic Monastery in the Land of AZ, where they attempt to turn bad and impossible dreams into “Sweet Dreams.” But nothing is ever as easy it seems.
Negotiations are also under way for three performances to be held in Cornelius upon the cast’s return from New York.
The production staff is looking for male and female actors age 18 to 75 and children ages 5-9.
Auditions are July 22 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Warehouse Performing Arts Center, 9216-A Westmoreland Road, Cornelius. Bring photo and resume to the audition.
