CHARLOTTE – Charlotte Radiology plans to expand its mobile mammography services by adding a second mobile breast center in August.
Responding to increased demand for convenient access to early screening for breast cancer, the new mobile unit will help Charlotte Radiology serve more women – both the insured and uninsured – in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Union and York counties.
Since February 2011, Charlotte Radiology has screened almost 7,500 patients in its state-of-the-art mobile center and has traveled over 12,000 miles to provide “breast health expertise on wheels” at various special events, health fairs and businesses.
With a capacity to see approximately 5,000 patients a year on each Mobile Breast Center, Charlotte Radiology is ensuring that breast cancer detection services are readily available.
