The Lake Norman Magic, a basketball team of 7th-graders, won the USBA State Championship at Charlotte’s Carolina Courts in late May. The team will compete in the USBA National tournament June 27-30 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The team includes Hannah Gaskins, Marie Strickland, Lauren Loveless, Alex Hollaway, Kayla Thompson, Savannah Reitz, Ashlynn Chapman, Mackenzie Peterson, and coaches Kerry Thompson and Chuck Peterson.
