Michael Reese Untz

MOUNT HOLLY – Michael Reese Untz, 52, of Mt. Holly, died June 11, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville.

Born Nov. 5, 1959, in Charlotte, he was the son of Reese and Linda Fennell Untz. He was a member of the Long Creek No. 205 Masonic Lodge in Huntersville and the Eastern Star Chapter 151.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Christy Leigh Untz.

Including his parents, he is survived by his wife Cheryl Cooper Untz; daughters Kimberly Untz Key and husband Michael, Tamie Untz and friend Kevin Boone, and Kaitlyn Seay; brother Mark Untz and his wife Michelle and children Marcus and Laura, mother of Kimberly and Tamie; Joyce Smith Untz; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, June 16, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville with the Rev. Allen Purtill officiating.

Interment was be held at the convenience of the family.

Milton Clarence Schroeder

CORNELIUS – Milton Clarence Schroeder, 89, of Cornelius, died  June 12, 2012, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Lawton, N.D., he was a son of the late Clarence and Edna Fifer Schroeder.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Mary; sons Terry and wife Paulette of Sanford, Stephen and wife Margie of Ijamsville, Md., and Philip and wife Debbie of Stanley; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Rae Schroeder Paulson of Eugene, Ore.

Services were held Friday, June 15, at Davidson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jody Seymour officiating.

Mary Williams Gallagher

HUNTERSVILLE – Mary Williams Gallagher, 91, of Huntersville, died June 16, 2012, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

Born May 9, 1921, in Emporia, Va., she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Williams.

Her husband Edward Gallagher and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Marge Wiggins of Concord and Chris Wallace and husband David of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; sister Virginia Shuttlesworth of California; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at the National V.A. Cemetery in Florence, S.C.

Lynne Readling Swing

MOORESVILLE – Lynne Readling Swing, 47, of Mooresville, died June 14, 2012, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Born Nov. 16, 1964, in Florence, S.C., she was a daughter to Martha Ann Washam Readling and the late James Madison Readling.

She was preceded in death by her brother Barry.

Survivors include her husband Scott Swing; children Luke, Ben and Katie; brother Rodney Readling and wife Betty Sue of Huntersville and Bryan Readling and wife Wendy of Davidson.

Services were held Tuesday, June 19, at First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville.

Kevin Andrew Sweet

HUNTERSVILLE – Kevin Andrew Sweet, 22, died Saturday, June 16.

He was born May 11, 1990, in Charlotte.

He graduated from Hopewell High School in 2008 and attended East Carolina University. He was employed at Action Cleanup and Restoration as a Project Manager in Huntersville.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ryan Charles Sweet, grandfather Bernard Ames and grandparents Max and Margaret Sweet.

Survivors include his parents Dustin and Julie Sweet and Laurie Sweet, brother Dustin Sweet and wife Amanda; niece Adalynn; sister Meghan Sherman and brother Nathan Sherman and wife Katelyn; grandmother Marlene Rought and husband Willard, and grandparents David and Charlotte Alexander.

Donations may be made to the charity of choice in his memory.
