David Mitchell Wichy

CORNELIUS – David Mitchell Wichy, 53, of Cornelius, died June 5, 2012, at CMC-Mercy in Charlotte.

Born Sept. 23, 1958, he was a son of Virginia Anelica Serra Orsini Wichi and the late Ruben Dario Wichy.

He retired from Newark Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, N.J. as supervisor of the radiology department.

Survivors include his wife Sadie Morales Wichy; daughters Adeline Wichy, Suly Barros and Jarissa Wichy; son David Mitchell Wichy Jr.; one brother; two sisters; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, June 8, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville.

Kemp Kistler Sherrill

MOORESVILLE – Kemp Kistler Sherrill, 95, of Mooresville, died June 5, 2012.

Born Dec. 4, 1916, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Guy Newton Sherrill and Lillie Thompson Sherrill.

He was a World War II veteran and worked at Davidson College from 1976 until 1997.

He was preceded in death by brothers Kermet and Keith.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Geneva Moose Sherrill; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kelly Kistler and Frankie Sherrill of Conover; Bobby “Squirrel” Douglas and Sheree Sherrill of Mooresville; brothers Kara Sherrill of Statesville and Kress Sherrill and wife, Joan of Mooresville; sisters, Sarah Thompson of Troutman, Summa West and husband Ralph of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Khevin Kistler Sherrill and wife Sandy of Mooresville, Ashley Thompson and husband Matt, Brooke Leslie and husband Josh of Mooresville, Brian Kistler Sherrill of Conover; great grandchildren, Stevie Christine Sherrill of Mooresville, Charles Mason Thompson of Mooresville, Jada Reese Leslie and Addisyn Claire Leslie of Mooresville.

Services were held June 7 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

A burial followed in Iredell Memorial Gardens.

Steven Bradley Shaffer

HUNTERSVILLE – Steven Bradley “Brad” Shaffer, 53, of Huntersville, died June 7, 2012, at his home.

Born Aug. 17, 1958, in Rockingham County, he was a son to Aldine and Dorothy Oakley Shaffer of Madison.

He worked as an insurance adjustor for Delhalize America and was a member of Davidson United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 30 years Nell Lancaster Shaffer; son Nathan Bradley Shaffer of Charlotte; daughter Erin Alece Shaffer of Charlotte; sister Denise Williams of Christiansburg, Va.; mother-in-law Alece Lancaster of Winston-Salem; brothers-in-law Harry, Charlie and Will Lancaster; three nephews and two nieces.

Services were held Sunday, June 10, at Davidson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jody Seymour officiating.

Elizabeth Jane Frazier

CORNELIUS – Elizabeth Jane Frazier, 80, died Sunday, June 10, 2012.

She grew up in West Virginia but lived in Cornelius for the last 20 years.

Survivors include her three children and their families, Larry Frazier and wife Karla of Advance, Brad Frazier and wife Kay of Cornelius and Patty Gayhart and husband Jim of Cincinnati, Ohio; and step-son John Frazier and wife Jane of Flint, Mich.

Services were held Wednesday, June 13, at Cornelius Baptist Church.

A graveside service took place the following day in Fraziers Bottom, W. Va.

Margie T. Conover

HUNTERSVILLE – Margie T. Conover, 90, of Huntersville, died June 9, 2012, at the Serenity House.

Survivors include her daughters Rae Ellen Jones and fiancé Danny, Jill Kurtz and husband Robert, Cindy Morosini; and sister Violet Sholgren.

Services are private.

Carl Schlosser

CORNELIUS – Carl Schlosser, 92, of Cornelius, died June 8, 2012, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

Born Jan. 31, 1920, in Belleville, Ill., he was a son of the late John and Lena Sauerwein Schlosser.

He was a major in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife J. Louise Schlosser, brother John Schlosser and sister Aurelia Ruse.

Survivors include his daughter Carol Fahey of Cornelius; son Allan Schlosser and wife Susan of Tulsa Okla.; daughter Linda Poole and husband John of St Louis, Mo.; grandchildren Matthew and Thomas Schlosser, Danny, Justin and Ryan Fahey and Kendra Poole. Also surviving are his sister Margie James and brother Loyd Schlosser.

Services were held Sunday, June 10, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.
