CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation, an endowment at Foundation For The Carolinas, appointed four new trustees May 24. Charlotte Area Regional Transit Authority CEO Carolyn Flowers, Charlotte Country Day Head of School Mark Reed, Novant Health Community Partnerships Vice President Ophelia Garmon-Brown and Carmichael Partners Managing Partner Brian Bailey will serve as trustees.
The 2012 Executive Community will consist of: Cammie Hauptfuhrer, chair of the board; Community Development Director of Wells Fargo Michael Rizer, social capital committee; Red Ventures Senior Vice President Peter Smul; Pam Syfert, children and youth committee; and James Woodward, immediate past chair.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation has awarded more than $28 million to nonprofit organizations in the county. The foundation works for equal opportunity in education, safe housing, employment and community engagement.
