Teachers pucker up for Make-a-Wish
by Staff Writer
HUNTERSVILLE – Students at Huntersville Elementary School want to help make the wishes of terminally ill children come true while having a little fun themselves. Throughout the past week, students have been collecting money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases, by voting for the Huntersville Elementary teacher they most want to see kiss a llama. Each teacher has been assigned a collection bucket, and students vote by placing their money in their chosen teacher’s bucket. The teacher with the most money by the end of the week must kiss a llama Friday, June 1. So far, students have raised more than $2,000.
