CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Children’s Choir, a community organization that provides vocal education and performance opportunities to boys and girls of all backgrounds, is holding auditions for its 2012-13 season.

Founded in 1986, the choir consists of 230 children from more than 100 public and private schools. There are six choirs, from preparatory to senior choirs.

Children ages 8 to 18 with a desire to sing may audition. No prior musical training is required. Auditions are a simple, friendly process that lasts about 10 minutes and serves as a placement evaluation so students are assigned to the appropriate choir based on skill level, experience and age. No prepared piece is required. Auditions will be held in June and July in the Children’s Choir offices and local churches. For more information or to schedule an audition, visit www.charlottechildrenschoir.org or contact the choir office at 704-374-1892, ext. 23.
