DAVIDSON – A group of Davidson Elementary School third-graders recently donated 160 new and gently used books to a second-grade classroom at Winding Spring Elementary School in Charlotte.

Student Council representatives Davis Pharr and Amanda Samback from Troy Gray’s classroom helped organize the event. The two students presented the books, along with Gray and Davidson Elementary Assistant Principal Molly McKinney, to Winding Spring Elementary on March 14.

“We chose this project so that we could help an underprivileged school and the importance of reading every day,” Gray said. “The whole class participated by bringing in a variety of interesting books.”
