The Hornets, a 9-and-under baseball team in the Huntersville Youth Athletic Association, have won 15 of its past 18 games and finished first or second in four straight Nation’s Baseball tournaments. Last weekend, the Hornets came from behind in the last inning to defeat Team Virginia, 7-6 and the Belmont Pelicans 11-10, to win the Bat Wars 9-and-under championship.

The Hornets won their first Nations Baseball tournament on April 28-29. The Hornets were 3-1 in the tournament and faced tough competition from Porter Ridge, Denver, South Charlotte and Lincolnton.
