Donna L. Brown
CORNELIUS – Donna Lee Brown, 58, died March 25, 2012.
Born Feb. 18, 1954, in Oceanside, Calif., she was a daughter of Marge Sherma and the late Sam Sherma.
She enjoyed taking trips with family and friends and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Brown; son, Ken and wife, Janine; daughter, Pam; granddaughter, Merrilee; brother, Joe Sherma and wife, Elaine; sister, Kathy Blee and husband, Frank; and sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Bill Kienke.
Services were held March 29 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral home.

Stuart T. Lyon
MOORESVILLE – Stuart Thomas Lyon, 73, died March 25, 2012.
Born Dec. 19, 1938, in Morristown, N.J., he was a son of the late Oliver Crane Lyon and Elizabeth Cieslinski Lyon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Princeton University.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Lyon and brother, Oliver Lyon Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Rutley Lyon; daughters, Caroline Lyon Edmondson and husband, Michael, of Hickory, and Charlotte Lyon Simone and husband, Dan, of Huntersville; and five grandchildren.
Services were held March 29 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

David M. Still
CORNELIUS – David Mitchell Still, 65, died March 27, 2012, at his home.
Born Aug. 10, 1946, in Albemarle, he was the son of the late Zebulon V. and Zena Pauline Hudson Still.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and owner of Still & Co. accounting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Woodhouse Still; daughters, Christian Still and Kelly Still, of Cornelius; sister, Rebecca S. Levine and husband, Gary; and two nephews and one niece.
Services were held Friday, March 30, in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

Dolly W. Peterson
DAVIDSON – Dolly Wilkins Peterson, 81, died March 28, 2012.
Born Sept. 11, 1930, in Valley City, N.D., she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Lily Wilkins.
She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1951.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, DeForest Peterson, and brother Wayne.
Survivors include her son, Lee and wife, Theresa, of Cornelius; brother Ward Wilkins and wife, Mary Lou, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; and sister, Della Easterday and husband, William, of Jacksonville, Fla.
A memorial service is planned this summer in Valley City, N.D.

William H. Tiemann
DAVIDSON – William Harold Tiemann, 84, died March 24, 2012, after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1927, on a farm near Seguin, Texas, he was a son of the late William Edward Tiemann and Hele Marie Willman.
Tiemann spent time in the U.S. Navy and also served several area churches as interim pastor.
In 2001, he became the parish associate for Davidson College Presbyterian Church, a position he held until Dec. 31, 2011.
Survivors include his wife, the Rev. Rachel Haynes, of Davidson; children, Karen
Tiemann Blackwell, of Kansas City, Kan., Steve Tiemann, of Arlington, Texas, and Andrew Tiemann of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepsons, Keven Haynes, of Atlanta, Ga., and Nathaniel Haynes, of Charlotte; siblings, Kenneth Edward Tiemann, of Austin, Texas, and Helen Mary Kolb, of Seguin, Texas; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, March 31, at Davidson College Presbyterian Church with Pastor Lib McGregor Simmons and Associate Pastors Robert Alexander and Andrew Scales officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Organ at Davidson Series and the Stephen Ministry, both at Davidson College Presbyterian Church, and to Hospice and Palliative Care Lake Norman.

Joy A. Washington
CHARLOTTE – Joy Ann Washington, 44, died March 25, 2012, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville.
Born March 9, 1968, in Three Rivers, Mich., she was the daughter of Loren and Jean Warfield.
She was a member of Davidson United Methodist Church where she wrote children’s Sunday School curriculum for the church. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and school volunteer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her children, Jordan Alexander Washington, Grace Mae Washington and Naomi Ann Washington, all of Charlotte; sister, Carole McNees; nephew, Brandon McNees, and niece, Chelsey McNees, all of Schoolcraft, Mich.
Services were held Tuesday, April 3, at Davidson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jody Seymour officiating.

Richard Bartlett
TODD – Richard “Rick” Bartlett, 30, of Todd, died recently at Johnson City University Hospital in Tennessee.
Born Oct. 10, 1981, in Marion, he was a member of Cornerstone Summitt Church in Boone and was a graduate of Ashbrook High School.
Services were held Wednesday, April 4, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road in Gastonia. Interment was private.
Survivors include his mother, Pamela Eller Hastings and husband, Charles, of Cramerton; father, Gene Bartlett, of Huntersville; sister, Tara Bartlett, of Charlotte; nieces, Kristin Bartlett of Illinois, Talia Wilson, of Charlotte; uncle, Jay Eller, of Mt. Holly; and aunt, Cindy Eller, of Cramerton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick and Mott Eller.
