CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education approved the calendar for the 2013-14 school year at its April 10 meeting.

A committee of district teachers, principals, administrators, parents and community members designed two versions of the calendar with various options for teacher work days, annual leave days and holidays throughout the 215-day school year. The committee also conducted an online poll to find if residents preferred one of the two options.
