HUNTERSVILLE – Newel Cobb, 19, graduated from Lake Norman Charter School and attends Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints Alexandria Ward, which meets in Huntersville. Cobb is in missionary training and learning the Tagalog language in Provo, Utah for eight weeks. He will then go to the Philippines for two years to share the gospel. Cobb completed a year at Brigham Young University and plans to resume his studies after his service.
