DAVIDSON – A group of human rights activists hold a three-day event to raise awareness about global sex trafficking.
The ABOLISH initiative partners with the Davidson College chapter of the International Justice Mission, a global humanitarian aid organization, to host speakers, vendors and a screening of the groundbreaking documentary “Sex + Money: A Global Search for Human Worth,” about sex trafficking in the U.S.
The event includes speaker Kristen Keen, of Sari Bari, Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Davidson College, on the top floor of the Davidson Student Union, 207 Faculty Drive; screenings of “Sex + Money: A National Search for Human Worth” at the Lake Norman YMCA on Saturday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m., hosted by the Church of the Good Shepherd; and on Friday, March 30, from 5 to 9 p.m., Ben & Jerry’s of Davidson will give all tips and 20 percent of proceeds to World Relief North Carolina, an organization that provides assistance to victims of human trafficking.
