CHARLOTTE – The Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners was told Tuesday, Feb. 7, it couldn’t stop property tax appeals after Cornelius leaders sent a letter asking for the halt and demanding answers.
Commissioners were told they have no authority to stop the revaluation process once it’s started.
Cornelius residents said in a letter to commissioners last week that the revaluation process had been poorly conducted with arbitrarily set property values.
